We have set up a sizing chart to help you determine what size will be best for you. Please note that custom alterations are to be expected by the consumer, especially in the length of the gown.
It's very important to have the correct measurements when ordering bridesmaids dresses. Ideally, you should have the measurements done by an experienced seamstress. If thatís not possible, have a friend or family member assist you. We have put together some general guidelines to help.
What you will need to measure yourself: You should use a cloth tape measurer and you should measure yourself in your under-garments. You will be measuring your bust, waist, hips and gown length; so be sure to write those labels down with the corresponding measurements to avoid confusion.
Please note that each designer uses a different size chart so you mustnít assume that a size 8 from one manufacturer will fit the same way a size 8 does from another manufacturer. You could actually measure three different sizes from three different designers.
Keep in mind that it is much easier for a seamstress to take a dress "in" than to "let out" the seams. Not every dress can be let out. However, it's best to choose the size that will require the least alteration.
Please remember - Bridesmaids dresses are special order items (made to order) and cannot be returned or exchanged.
If you are uncertain of what size to order, please e-mail us at info@Bridesmaids.com or call us at 212-647-9686. We are more than happy to help.
BUST Measure around the widest part of the back, straight across the fullest part of the bust, not under the bust line. Be aware that wearing no bra versus a strapless or regular bra can make quite a difference in measurements. Do not use your bra size measurement! A girl who wears a 34A bra will have a much different bust measurement than a girl who wears a 34D!
WAIST Measure around your natural waistline. This is the smallest part of your torso and not necessarily where you wear your pants. You want the dress to fit comfortably around the waist.
HIPS Measure around the fullest part of your hips. This is the largest part of your hips and thighs.
EXTRA LENGTH Extra length is available for most bridesmaidsí gowns and should be strongly considered if any member of the bridal party is over 5'9". Bridesmaids.com can consult with you on the length of the dress you are ordering and whether extra length is an option. Pricing varies from designer to designer and according to style.
Sizes 18 and OVER there are additional charges per gown. Price is dependent on the designer as well as the style.
